Eiffel Bridge / Štangerova ćuprija

Just a few kilometers from the Croatian border, in the municipality of Čapljina, in the village of Sjekose, stands the Štangerova ćuprija, an iron bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel – one of the most famous engineers in history, the author of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The bridge was built at the end of the 19th century for the needs of a narrow-gauge railway and still stands today, almost untouched, defying time and oblivion. Nearby are preserved tunnels, and the former railway route is now partially arranged as a cycling path.
