Our story
Welcome to Čapljina - The Flower of Herzegovina
In the south of Herzegovina where the rivers Trebižat, Bregava, and Krupa merge with the Neretva, there lies a city of water, sun, stone, and flowers, Čapljina.
Čapljina is located at an important crossroads of roads, thanks to its geographical position. In Čapljina, the following intersect:
- - two regional roads,
- - two main roads,
- - a railway line,
- - the highway corridor Vc.
Its location, abundance of water, fertile land, and mild climate have attracted people since ancient times, who have lived in these areas since the Bronze Age. Living in this area, they built dwellings that are today significant cultural and historical monuments not only for the area of Čapljina but also beyond.
The urban part of Čapljina consists of wide streets, squares, boulevards, greenery, parks, tree-lined avenues, playgrounds… We who live today are carefully building the city, paying attention to the beauty and harmony of the space for which Čapljina is recognized.
Therefore, it is rightly said that Čapljina is the Flower of Herzegovina.
